Butch Cassidy's King World Water Park!

Southeastern Utah's only Water Park!

Butch Cassidy's King World Water Park extends it's deepest regret to inform our valued and most supportive patrons that we, after a much heart felt decision, are closing our doors, this our 16th year in business.

With the recent price hikes; chemicals, insurance, labor, paint and pump costs it is cost prohibitive to try to stay in business any longer.

Our manager Robert Norman, Jr. and the Norman family were continually working to make this one of Moab's fun water recreation centers and are saddened at this major decision.

We would like to thank the community and especially the local and surrounding county school districts that were always first to our openings and that often weathered colder spring days. The Normans built this park with children in mind to hear laughter, and watch the faces of those who shrieked as they splashed into the cool water, knowing the joy of kids just having fun.

To Moab and the surrounding communities, again thank you for your years of patronage.

Sincerely,
The Norman Family

Welcome to Butch Cassidy's King World Water Park, owned and operated by the Norman family, long-time residents of Moab. King World Water Park is Moab's summer playground featuring the following amenities:

  • 5 Slides 3 Pools
  • Kiddie Area
  • Paddle Boats
  • Gift Shop
  • Concessions
  • Showers
  • Lockers
  • Shade Structures
  • Picnic Areas and Grills

Butch Cassidy's Watering Hole, a spring-fed pond, offers Paddle Boating and fish feeding.

To insure maximum privacy and enjoyment for our guests the "17-acre Waterpark Oasis" was constructed by utilizing the same natural hidden box canyon walls that were once used by Butch Cassidy and the "Wild Bunch" to house their rustled cattle and horses, and to receive water from the natural spring-fed pond. While preserving this historic site we were able to keep the park secluded from the highway, yet provide spectacular views from within the park itself.

Shrouded with mystery, the world-famous "KING WORLD" was sculpted on a 40-ton boulder in the early 30's by an eccentric European immigrant, Ahaaron Andeew.
This local legend has now become Moab's newest tourist attraction for young and old alike. The mysterious "King World" carving has baffled archeologists, treasure hunters and residents for generations. Featured in Treasure Search magazine.
In 1991, world-renowned sculptor, Ken Hiratsuka carved one of his famous, continuous one-liner sculptures on a boulder located near the "King World" (Man on the Boulder) carving.
Nearby Petroglyphs, Spanish carvings and mysterious coded messages possibly date back to the Spanish Trail days have piqued the interest of researchers as far away as Europe and beyond.
University of Utah research geologists are presently working to identify the unusual set of prehistoric animal tracks.

Fun for all ages!
